We had the most wonderful dining experience at Red onion restaurant during our visit to NYC. The staff were so friendly and kind, and the food was absolutely amazing. The restaurant itself is so beautiful, We enjoyed paneer chili fri and a variety of tandoori-grilled meats like malai kabab and seehk kabab Everything we had to eat was so delicious. I would recommend red onion to anyone looking for good Indian food in Manhattan! They are in a great location in east village . It is well worth a visit!

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Red Onion NYC, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. We ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan, and jeera basmati rice—and every bite was phenomenal, bursting with authentic, out-of-this-world ...

4.9 stars on Google? We were intrigued. Walking in, we found an unassuming space that was, um, 'cozy' - aka dimly lit (bring a flashlight, folks!). But the warm welcome from the staff made up for it. Manager Varun gave us the lowdown on the menu and restaurant, and we dove in with a beer and trio kebab appetizer. The meat? Cooked to perfection. Flavor? On point. Then came the Pandara Road Butter Chicken - the real MVP. We were bracing for sweetness, but nope, it was spiced just right. The Dal Frontier was tasty too, though we wished it was a tad creamier (nitpicking, we know). Garlic naan and coconut rice were the perfect sidekicks. And that complimentary mango lassi? A delightful surprise. While the space itself won't win design awards (yet!), we hear outdoor seating and an open kitchen are coming soon. Until then, the food alone earns a solid 5 stars. Taste buds: 1, Dim Lighting: 0.

We had a fantastic dinner at Red Onion last night! The vegan options were incredible—so much variety and flavor in every dish. The staff was warm and attentive, making the experience even better. The vibe of the place is relaxed yet stylish, perfect for a night out in the Lower East Side. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious vegan-friendly dining in NYC!

One of the better, if not one of the best, North Indian restaurants in NYC! The food is literally finger licking.. GOOD! The lamb chops?? *CHEF’S KISS* All the entrees, including paneer makhani, seekh kabob, black daal makhani (one of the best I’ve ever had!).. are STELLAR. Authentic, flavorful.. beyond home cooked goodness This place fills up quick.. suggest going early or making a reservation When looking into what makes the taste different, it turns out the family owners are adamant about -sourcing all the spices from their hometown in Rajasthan -all dishes are made from scratch daily -using only organic ingredients, natural farm raised chicken with no steroids and growth hormones... they import the seafood directly from India to avoid fish farms locally.. apparently goat lamb are raised on luxurious diet of dry fruits and natural foods Excited to return!

Incrediblyyyyyy good food. Had a 4.9/5 rating on google so l was skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised. The chilli chicken was my favorite- perfect balance of spice and taste and the portion sizes are huge. The vibes were cool too- upscale hole in the wall vibes and really good music

Finally found an authentic northern Indian restaurant that has unbelievably delicious food without costing a fortune. We were four people and shared lamb chops (so good, we’re still talking about them!), butter chicken, red lentils, cauliflower, onion culchi, garlic naan, rice. Cocktails and beer. Every single dish was bursting with exquisite flavor. Service was excellent and so friendly. Small space so try to get reservation in advance. Reminded us of our travels to India. Can’t wait to go back.
